We have stayed at the balmoral 3 times now and really enjoy our stay there.Breakfast was lovely with hot food choice and eggs cooked to order.Very quiet which is a major plus point -has there is nothing worse then getting woke up at 3am in the morning by people shouting in the corridors.Lovely friendly staff-great shower fab location.
The staff were always pleasant and helpful. If you needed anything all you had to do was to ask them. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
The decor in my single room seemed a bit dated and tired. The ensuite bathroom in my single room would probable be better as a shower room.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was a wee bit tired but clean and tidy. The food was excellent. It was also quiet. Would use it again
Food and staff were excellent.
Whilst clean, my single room was incredibly small.
This hotel offers great value for money. Good location for a short break in Southport, good food and the staff could not do enough for us.
The single rooms are very small, but comfortable, and the fittings generally were a little tired.
The staff were very friendly. which makes for a great stay. The bed was probably one of the most comfortablist I have ever slept on, including my own. There was a good selection to choose from at Breakfast in a nice setting overlooking the gardens of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and fellow travellers.
the location was ideal for the purpose of our visit. the staff were friendly and helpful. the building is an old property and has interesting architecture.the breakfast had a small selection but you were able to help yourself. we asked for a quiet room and were given one overlooking the back garden. the room was spacious with a small fridge. settee. tv etc.
the beds were very uncomfortable basic wooden frame and thin mattress. could brush your hands over the top to feel and see every spring. we ended up using the duvet from the spare bed as a topper to try and cushion it a bit..breakfast was average. cooking not fantastic. milk appeared to be watered down.
Friendly hotel staff.
Dark narrow passages to some rooms. Rooms would benefit with some additional cleaning.
This is our second visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal locatioj for visiting family. Good breakfasts.
No enough car parking spaces when business people booked in
Family owned and run so personal attention important to their survival. Friendly and accommodating staff, room clean, basic services. Comfortable budget hotel
Although elderly and on my own, it felt I was one of the family. A small family staff worked hard and were always helpful.
If given the choice I would prefer blanket for bedding
The hotel was in a nice location a 5 minuit walk to the town cafes and bars
The hotel itself needed to be brightend up a bit the paint work was to dark where natural light could not get in also we where not keen on the breakfast beans were cold and the bacon was like sliced boiled bacon they wernt rashers which I found dissapointing
We were made very welcome, and the breakfast was good. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We had a garden room, with access directly to the garden, with our own balcony through french doors. The bed was comfy and clean. We stayed for a few days, to be near our Son and Daughter in law and grandchildren who live in Southport at the moment. For what we paid it was a good deal.
There was a musty smell in the room, and the bathroom needs to be updated, and towels were a little tired, but the plus side of things outweighed this.
We chose a wing room with patio and views of the garden - a good peaceful choice. The staff were excellent - always greeted with a smile.
Although only 10 minutes walk to sea front it was another 30 minutes to attractions. Not a warm room - needed heater on.
We had a garden twin room, it was excellent as the weather was very warm and we could sit ouside on the patio. The garden area was very soothing and quiet. Will definately stay again, perhaps for longer next time. The staf were very obliging, pleasant, and helpful, they could not do enough to make us welcome. Although the free internet was very useful as I was able to do some work that was overdue.
The first morning the breakfast was excellent, and we had breakfast at 7.45, as it was a buffet so you could just help youself to whatever you wanted and it was very good. However on the second morning we had breakfast about an hour later. The food had obviously been cooked early and the sausages and bacon had been kept warm for a long time and was hard as rock, also the one toaster was not enough when the restaurant got a little fuller. Having said this we have had worse in a more expensive Hotel. So on the whole it was not that bad. Will definately stay again
